Your task

As an Innovation Scout you are a trainer, mediator, motivator and mentor. With your commitment, your know-how and your enthusiasm, you contribute to lead companies into a safe future. Your activity doesn’t only make sense, it’s also a lot of fun.

You give inspiring workshops, train employees in companies to become innovators and intrapreneurs and develop new business models together with them. You are the first point of contact for companies when it comes to innovation and forge a creative think tank that is unmatched.

You are not a consultant who has an answer to everything, but a coach who empowers other people to do extraordinary things. Nobody knows the company as well as the employees themselves. Empower them to lift these treasures for the benefit of the company.

Innovation Scout

Trainee

Internship and trial phase

The trainee is the entry level at the Innovators Institute. This level is for those who have no previous experience with innovation processes. The trainee is the ideal trial level to find out whether the innovation industry is suitable for your own career, since it does not involve large costs or investments and can be pursued part-time. The level of the trainee is comparable to a trial period for both sides.

The trainee completes the web-based free further education: “1st level Certificate – Fundamentals of Innovation Management” with the focus on basic knowledge about innovation.

White Belt

1st level certificate - Fundamentals of Innovation Management

After 6 months at the latest, the trainee as well as the manager and the Innovators Institute have gained sufficient knowledge as to whether a long-term cooperation is to be aimed at. In this case, the trainee receives the designation “Innovation Scout | White Belt”.

Now that the White Belt has successfully completed the “1st level Certificate – Fundamentals of Innovation Management”, his professional competence is being expanded to include sales competence. For this purpose, regular weekly presence meetings are held, in which sales-relevant topics are exchanged and trained with other Innovation Scouts.

Orange Belt

2nd level certificate - Advanced Innovation Management

An Orange Belt has received the “1st level Certificate – Fundamentals of Innovation Management” as well as regular sales and training courses. The successful qualification for the Orange Belt means, that first interviews can be conducted independently. He actively manages his own mandates.

The Orange Belt completes the certificate course: “2nd level certificate – Advanced Innovation Management” with a focus on increasing innovation competence. With the commencement of the training, it is permitted to carry out independent consulting and to build up an own team. For the first time, the Orange Belt is taking over parts of the weekly attendance meetings as a lecturer and organizer within the framework of regular further training.

Green Belt

3rd level certificate - Business Transformation and Corporate Development

The Green Belt will now receive additional leadership trainings as their focus shifts to leadership, coaching and training for White and Orange Belts. The tasks “own customer care”, team building and training take up roughly equal parts. Together with others, he organizes the weekly face-to-face meetings at their location and implements the training plan. At the same time, he assumes more and more sales responsibility for his team. At this point at the latest, a full-time job as an Innovation Scout is recommended.

The Green Belt completes the certificate course: “3rd level certificate – Business Transformation and Corporate Development” with a focus on executive training.

Innovation Manager

Blue Belt

4th level certificate - Strategic Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship

Team and thus leadership responsibility grow. The Blue Belt has the option of opening his first own office at a location of his choice. The relationship between training and leadership has shifted from ¼ to ¾ and his top priority is to further develop every single Innovation Scout in his team – both professionally and personally – and make them successful. He leads between 10 and 20 Innovation Scouts at his location, which he has personally recruited and thus sets up his dream team.

The Blue Belt completes the certificate course: “4th level certificate – Strategic Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship” with a focus on entrepreneurship and managing of their own location

Brown Belt

Certificate for Management & Finance Skills

Following the successful management of the first office, the Brown Belt opens further representative offices and assumes responsibility for an entire region. He works closely with the management of the Innovators Institute and actively participates in shaping the future of the institute. Particularly successful Brown Belts will be offered a seat on the Strategy Board, which will meet regularly to discuss strategy, innovation approaches and the customer experience as the main topics.

The Brown Belt completes the certificate course: “Certificate for Management & Finance Skills” with a focus on the management of companies and regions.

Black Belt

Certificate for Disruptive Innovation

Only the best reach the status of the Black Belt. As a Black Belt you combine exceptional customer orientation, the highest professional expertise and a special talent for leadership. The crowning achievement of your career as an Innovation Scout is the Master Black Belt, which can only be awarded if a Black Belt has achieved such an extraordinary performance that it deserves special mention. For example, mining a disruptive idea for a customer can be such a special occasion. You will be able to participate in a high-class training that will enable you to systematically develop and validate disruptive innovations and business models.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you are already successful in consulting, sales and management. However, we also offer a well-founded on-boarding concept for newcomers and lateral entrants. Prerequisites are entrepreneurial thinking, performance and focus on results, great ambition and high quality standards. Authenticity is indispensable when it comes to working with customers and managing employees.

Many independent consultants are on their own. They have neither a sparring partner nor a representative. 80% of their valuable time is spent on acquisition and not on consulting.
